Just For Seniors

Maria Scott Photography is known for clean, colorful, high-fashion photography with a modern twist. I strive to showcase each senior’s individual personality.  Every session is approached with exceptional attention to detail to ensure the portraits are fun, fresh, and unique. Maria’s clients LOVE having one-of-a-kind portraits with professionally styled makeup and hair, exciting locations, and excellent client service. Senior portraits can take place anywhere and anytime from spring of your junior year, all the way up until graduation. Timing is different for everyone, but make sure that you are aware of the deadlines for submitting your senior yearbook photo.

What should I wear / bring? Your senior portraits represent you, so bring several outfits (three or four) that fit your personality. Try to stay away from anything that has graphics or lettering on it. I recommend solid colors, longer sleeves and layers. If you are uncomfortable in your outfit, it shows, so make sure that you try on what you plan to wear ahead of time and that it suits you. Also, make sure to bring any props that are personal to you, such as instruments, sports equipment, pets and cars.

Do you offer hair and makeup? Yes! I can set up a professional hair stylist and makeup artist for your session for an additional $75 charge. If you’re more comfortable doing your own hair and makeup, make sure you show up already done up, ready to roll. If you need to perform touch-ups during the session, that’s fine. Simply bring your choice of cosmetics, and we’re happy to assist you.

Why I recommend professional hair and makeup: The answer is a little counterintuitive but extremely important. The purpose of makeup is not to conceal but rather to enhance your best qualities—qualities that can get lost within the glare of professional studio lighting.

How to arrive for a hair and makeup session: If you opt to use my professional makeup artists, arrive with clean skin lightly moisturized. Ensure that your face is clear of makeup, to give the makeup artist a clean palette to begin with. For hair, arrive with clean and styled hair as if you were walking into an audition.

What should I expect during my session? We will meet at a designated location that was decided on during your consultation. Senior sessions can typically take anywhere between one to two hours.

Can I bring a friend to my session? Absolutely! Having a friend around can often make you feel more comfortable and happy in front of the camera!

Do you reschedule for bad weather? Yes, but I evaluate each situation individually based on shooting locations.

How does proofing and ordering work? All sessions come with a private online gallery for viewing and ordering prints for up to 14 days. This gallery may be shared with family. Please note the gallery expiration date as a $25.00 fee will be charged to reinstate your gallery.
